Background to the ELP-WSU project

This website results from a project run within the ECML's (European Centre for Modern Languages) Empowering Language Professionals programme entitled "The European Language Portfolio in whole school use".

Abstract of the project

The project is concerned with the use of the ELP to support the learning and teaching of languages on a whole-school basis: all languages from the beginning to the end of the curriculum. The project has five interacting aims:

  1. to identify whole-school projects that already exist;
  2. to support the implementation of new whole-school projects,
  3. to study the impact of such projects on schools, teachers and learners;
  4. to develop guidelines for the design, implementation and management of whole-school ELP projects, and
  5. to communicate project outcomes to decision makers.
